Emmett is founder of MurphyLeadership.com and former Chairman and CEO of EC Murphy VHA, LLC, the management consulting subsidiary of VHA America, Inc., the world’s largest business and healthcare alliance. His clients range from small and regional business, healthcare and public service organizations to such corporations as GE, William Mercer, IBM, Walmart, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, and the Department of Defense as well as such healthcare leaders as Johns Hopkins, Kaiser Permanente and the International Hospital Federation.

He has served in faculty, administrative, and consulting roles with the State University of New York, Harvard Medical School/Brigham Hospitals, Richard Beckhard Associates affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the American Management Associations, Booz-Allen Hamilton, and London University, among others. As part of the firm’s organizational transformation practice, Dr. Murphy has served directly as Executive Consulting Officer or CEO for business and healthcare organizations in North America and Europe, including joint ventures with General Electric and William Mercer.
